Round 4

The results of round 3 showed that everyone was eager to get back onto the pitch after a week off for Easter. Check the game recaps below.

This weekend brings up round 4 with some exciting games ahead. This week we see our senior men’s team go up against Vic Park for their first night game of the season again. come doen and cheer them on @ Vic Park 8:15pm (Friday 29th April)

Senior men’s

Forest Vs Maryborough

A great weekend for our Senior Men taking our first 3 points of the season against a hungry and relentless Maryborough squad. An early goal and some unbelievable saves by Scott Crawley allowed us to maintain momentum and secure the win.

Senior Women’s

Forest Vs Maryborough

This week the senior women’s team came up against a brand new Maryborough team who have not had a team in the competition for a very long time. Forest came out strong and looked like a well oiled machine against the Maryborough girls who were still learning the game. Almost half of the girls in the team contributed to the scoreline with Jacki contributing the most, slotting in 14 goals, followed by Holly who smashed in 6 goals. We also saw Niamh kick her first ever goal for Forest. The team looked solid from the defence line all the way up to the top. They secured the win with a whopping 31 goals, bringing the Forest Women’s team to the top of the BDSA ladder. They have a bye this week but are excited to head into the next round.

Under 15’s

Bacchus Marsh Vs Forest

The Under 15’s unfortunately fell short this week. Goals to Simon Neville-Ireland and Riley Green weren’t enough to get them over the line under trying conditions.

Under 13’s

Ballarat Vs Forest

From the start of the game we were off on the back foot, with only 8 players showing up on GameDay. This was made worse by Ballarat‘s big numbers seeing them have 11 on the pitch and 5 on the bench. With the odds against us we were unfortunately not able to get the win, but we made an incredible effort seeing all 8 players going above and beyond to keep Ballarat’s goal to a minimum. From the goal keeper to the defence, all the way to the forwards it was a game that a coach could be proud of watching. Bring on next week with hopefully a full squad.

FRIDAY NIGHT GAME

Vic Park Vs Forest

Vic Park 8:15pm

Just a friendly reminder to everyone who is part of the club, whether you are a player, parent or supporter that our club is all volunteer based, from our coaches, to our club officials (linesmen and referees) to our canteen staff and all the key people in between. Just like Football Victoria, we to at Forest Rangers pride ourself on honouring the ‘we respect the game’ initiative. This includes all aspect of the game and all the people involved. We want to lead from the front, so it’s important that everyone respects all involved and behaves in a way that demonstrates this respect. This also includes having respect for your own team, meaning making sure that you commit to coming to training every week and letting your coaches know if you will or will not be attending the game. This is fundamental values for our club.

For there’s not a team like the Forest Rangers
