Round 16

This week the miniroos and under 13's take priority with our senior teams and under 15's not having any games!

Round 15

Senior men's

Vikings VS Forest

A battle of two differnt halves on a foul winter day. The quality of Sebas couldn't be contained in the first 45 minutes of football as they banged in six unanswered goals. Rallying at half time, we emerged with the intensity and energy we want to operate at, finishing the game 8-1.

Senior womens's

Vikings VS Forest

Last Sunday our Forest Rangers women came up against Sebastopol Vikings for the second time. Unfortunately, the women played with only 10 players meaning that there were no substitutes and they were one short on the pitch. Despite these circumstances, our women scored the first goal with an amazing shot by Lily, one of the juniors. The first half ended with our women having a 1 - 0 lead, and feeling amazing and having heads held high. Unfortunately in the second half, with the strong wind against them and tired legs, the women forfeited 3 goals. Despite this, the women never let their heads drop nor did they stop peppering the vikings goalie with many shots. The mantra for the day was ‘annoyingly optimistic’ and not for one second, did the Forest women ever become negative out on the pitch. They played amazingly, especially the juniors that filled in, who without them, the women would not have had a team.

Next week is a bye for the women.

Under 15's

Forest VS Creswick

With a brand new structure and facing the top team it was always going to be a tough ask for the under 15's to get ahead. Due to limited player numbers there were also fill ins from the under 13's stepping up to help out!

There was so much promise from the backline all the way to the forward line. Unfortunately, th attempts up front from the team were not able to hit the back of the net, unlike Creswick who manage to pocket 12 goals by the end of the game.

With a bye this round and extra training sessions bring on the next game.

Under 13's

Forest VS Vikings

A cracking game for the under 13's against the 2nd team on the ladder. This week we saw all the hard training come into play. Although Vikings were able to sneak in 2 quick goals within the first half, some fantastic team work saw Forest nailing a goal into the back of the nets. Unfortunately this was followed by a deflecting own goal. The second half was dominated by Forest who kept theyr sports high and managed to steal another goal. A lapse in concerntration in the last few moments saw Vikings getting one more goal. Bring the final score to 4-2, despite the amazing effort by the Forest team!

Up and coming events

Calling all volunteers September is just around the corner and that means soccer finals! Whilst this is an exciting time for those teams who manage to make it, it is also a huge and exciting time for the club to make some much needed money! With out clubrooms being built as we speak, we will need all the money we can get to kit it out with style! Forest this year are responsible for finals on the 11th (Sunday) and 17th (Saturday) of September! The 11th we will be in charge of running everything, this includes; the canteen, providing ball collectors, ground marshals, ticket collectors and more, so it will be all hands on deck. The 17th of September (grandfinal day) we will be running the canteen and with a huge turnout expected we will need a lot of volunteers. If you have any time available for either day or both of those days can you please get in contact with someone from the club so that a roster can be organised. This is a huge opportunity for the club but we need help to ensure that we can get the most out of it! Thank you in advance from the Forest Committee.
