Round 10
Updated: Jun 17, 2022
Whilst there was no soccer for the BDSA last weekend, we did have three of our junior players go and represent Ballarat in the annual regionals competition.
Congratulations to Lily, Tiarlah and Riley for respresenting Ballarat! You all made Forest proud. 💚🖤🤍💚🖤🤍

Round 9 re-cap!

Senior men's
Bacchus Marsh VS Forest
Tough day in Bacchus Marsh amongst frigid conditions and a slightly depleted team from sickness. Strong efforts in the back line kept us in the game, but after conceding several goals in the second half and not being up to our normal passing standards, we ended up being overran and outclassed.

Under 15's
North VS Forest
The Under 15’s came into the weekend against bottom placed North United on a three game losing streak and without top goal scorer Simon Neville-Ireland.
Forest overwhelmed North United in the opening 10 minutes, putting together some excellent passages of play on a very unkind surface. Aiden Hill, opened the scoring for us with a low shot from outside the box that the keeper wasn’t able to hold onto, bringing his tally to 3 for the season, all scored against North United. Shortly after substitute Mytheas Porter caught the keeper off his line from 40 yards out to double the lead before the break.
North United scored just after the break, to what can only be described as an error in communication between stand in keeper Logan Green and right back Jack Boyd, however that goal was quickly cancelled out due to an excellent run from Mytheas Porter down the left hand side, slotting the ball past the keeper with his left foot. When Forest was awarded a free kick 30 years a out Riley Green stepped up to take the kick, who had everyone fooled as he played a quick ball to the side for Mytheas Porter to hit a low effort past the keepers right hand side to complete his first hat trick for the club. The final goal from our team came off a deflection from a well hit cross from Under 13 Nicolas, who came on as a late substitution.
With all the action that occurred in the second half, the highlight of the match would have to be the absolutely sublime save from stand in keeper Logan Green, who make a full stretch save from a shot destined for the top corner from only 10 yards out.
For the second game running the Under 15’s would like to thank Under 13’s Jakayah, Nixen and Nic for filling in and helping the team secure our third win of the season!
Under 13's
North VS Forest
It was a game fought through the wind, rain and mud. We saw players slipping and sliding everywhere and running just to keep warm. With only 11 players we had a fight on our hands. Forest got off to a good start keeping possession in their attaching half for the first 10minuets of the game. Unfortunately North managed to get one into the back on the net, via a very unlucky deflection off one of the Forest players. With the second half seeing the rain fall even heavier, the Forest players did not stop pushing, with the ground getting even muddier and harder to keep upright, North managed to sneak in two more goals before the final whilst. Meaning Forest were unlucky to go down 3-0.

Training
With the bad weather settling in, we have been lucky enough to be offered access to indoor training facilities (major league), Thursday nights 5-6:30. Due to our large number of miniroo and junior teams, we will be creating a roatating roster system, so that one team a week will have training there, until all teams have had the opportunity and then the roster will be repeated. The roaster will be circulated in the coming week and coaches will inform players when their indoor time slot will be.

Save the date
We are planning our big Forest Rangers social event this year to be on Saturday the 16th July... Keep your eyes posted for more information about our big night! 💚🤍🖤💚🤍🖤
