FEMALE PARTICIPATION AT FRSC

Forest Rangers Soccer Club stands as a welcoming and family-centric organization that has expanded over the years to become a prominent entity within the Ballarat & District Soccer Association (BDSA), actively fostering female involvement.

Diversity and inclusivity are evident at Forest Rangers, with women occupying various roles across the club, including players, coaches, managers, referees, canteen staff, and committee members, catering to females of diverse ages and skill levels.

Those familiar with our Soccer club can attest that the predominant leaders of the club are women, with men providing supportive assistance.

-

FRSC currently have the following teams available:

  • Mixed teams (with boys) for ages 7 to 12

  • Girls only teams for u12's and u14's.

    • Both are in competitive competitions

  • Senior Womens team

    • This team often has young women aged 17/18 year olds along with women aged 30+.

FRSC has designated Isla Ford as a representative tasked with championing the cause of women and girls within the club. This strategic decision has empowered the club to develop a comprehensive strategy and support network aimed at enriching the soccer journey for female players and their coaches.

The collaboration between our girls' and women's program and the BDSA ensures that our players have access to various events and benefit from the support provided to promote and increase female involvement in soccer.

What day do Females play?

All of our teams play regularly on Sunday with the exception of a potential fixtured Friday-night or Saturday-night game.

  • Girls aged 7 to 14 fixtured game times will vary from 9am kick off to approximately 11am kick off.

  • Our Senior Womens team play at 1pm or 3pm each Sunday - if scheduled for Friday/Saturday night game, it is likely to be 6:15 or 8:15pm.

Where are the games located?

Locations vary each week, the BDSA fixture the games at the start of the year and aim to alternate from Home game / Away game each week.

The potential locations may be:

  • Wendouree

  • Creswick

  • Ballarat North

  • Central Ballarat

  • Sebastopol

  • Maryborough

  • Buninyong

  • Bacchus Marsh

Should my daughter play in the mixed or girls comp?

If possible, we encourage girls to try both - however understand that many girls feel more confident and get more touches of the ball in an all-girls competition. The rules, field sizes and costs are exactly the same.

We aim to be able to offer girls team and mixed team in each age group from u7's to u12's over the next few years however the options are limited at the moment due to lack of numbers - although growing!
